Wedding at Tonnara di Scopello

Photographing Chloe and Stefano’s wedding at the Tonnara di Scopello was an exciting experience made even more beautiful by the breathtaking scenery of one of Sicily’s most enchanting locations.

Chloe and Stefano live in Australia and were looking for a wedding photographer in Sicily who could create artistic wedding photos. Thanks to the recommendations of the Wedding Planner Marica Events, they had the opportunity to discover my work, and we started communicating via email. Right from the first email, a great connection was established, making everything easier on the wedding day.

Chloe and Stefano chose to celebrate their wedding in Italy, Stefano’s country of origin, and decided to get married in Sicily, the island that captured their hearts from their very first visit. Among the many proposed wedding venues, they immediately fell in love with La Tonnara di Scopello, an incredible location for a dream wedding. It is a magical and evocative place where nature, crystal-clear sea, and ancient history create a unique and unforgettable atmosphere. A place where time seems to stand still, combining simplicity, elegance, and all the scents and colors of the Mediterranean in Sicily.

To immortalize such a special wedding, it is essential to rely on a professional photographer who can capture every detail, every emotion, and every important moment of that day.

That’s why today I want to share my experience as a wedding photographer at La Tonnara di Scopello, during the wedding of this beautiful Australian-Italian couple.

Getting ready started in the late morning, after a swim in the crystal-clear sea with the many guests who had arrived from different parts of the world.

The bride got ready with her mother, sister, and friends in a serene and relaxed atmosphere, filled with laughter, toasts, and camaraderie that allowed me to work with utmost freedom, as I love to do.

On the other side of the villa, the groom was also beginning to get ready with the same lighthearted atmosphere, alongside his father, friends, and all the guests who gradually filled the courtyard of the residence with the vibrant colors of their formal attire.

Chloe and Stefano exchanged their vows on a long boardwalk by the seaside, accompanied by the laughter and tearful emotions of their relatives and friends who attended.

After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a moment of relaxation with their guests, toasting, laughing, savoring delicious food, and taking a few family photos.

With glasses still in hand, we took a stroll inside the Tonnara, exploring its most characteristic corners, allowing the couple a few intimate moments to be together and share the emotions they had just experienced. Chloe and Stefano are two very simple and private individuals, and I tried to respect their wish of having only a few spontaneous shots during this phase, so as not to take away time from the dinner and celebration. What I seek, in order to create artistic wedding photos, is the simplicity of a weathered wall, the beauty of a colorful bougainvillea, the symmetry of colors and shapes, but above all, the chemistry of a loving couple. It was quite easy to capture all of this in such a stunning wedding venue with such a beautiful couple.

The wedding reception took place inside the baglio, arranged in a simple and elegant manner with two long imperial tables.

The arrival of the newlyweds at the reception was greeted by raised glasses for a toast with the couple. During the dinner, which featured dishes from a Michelin-starred catering service, a series of speeches by the bride’s father, mother, the groom’s father, and dear friends made the reception phase enjoyable, fun, and emotional.

After dinner, all the guests let loose thanks to the contagious joy of the lively brass band, Ottoni Animati, who got everyone on their feet dancing, even me!
